The BlauHLM indicator is an indicator Blau HLM Composite High-Low Momentum, developed by William Blau.
Technical analysis of William Blau is divided into 4 phases
. The indicator is calculated
The indicator does not reflect the general trend of the market and do not determine the points reversals of trend
. The values of the indicator repeatedly are then smoothed using a smoothing method with an exponential moving average EMA:
- first smoothing with period r
- second smoothing with a period s
. third smoothing with a period u
. The smoothed indicator is standardized
. The normalized smoothed value is again smoothed with an exponential moving average EMA ul period.
The BlauHLM indicator then determines the trend and states over-bought and over-sold, the turning points and end of a trend.
